Seasonal cuisine
Restaurant Maison Aréni
In the heart of the Vaucluse region, at the foot of Mont Ventoux, Maison Aréni comes to life on the first floor of Château La Croix des Pins in Mazan.
Since April 2025, Jérôme Tchomlek has taken over the premises to create his culinary playground. Maison Aréni invites you to savor its Mediterranean-influenced cuisine.
True to his philosophy, the chef from Marseilles offers a menu that evolves with the seasons, featuring products unearthed in the immediate vicinity of the restaurant. He is committed to using only raw, authentic ingredients.
Where does the name Maison Aréni come from?
Armenia is one of the historic cradles of world viticulture, with winemaking traditions dating back over 6000 years. The Aréni grape variety, cultivated for millennia in this region, has become the emblem of Armenian viticulture.
Jérôme, the Armenian-born chef, chose this name in a nod to his family roots. When the opportunity arose to set up at Château La Croix des Pins, this reference to the world of wine took on even greater meaning.

The Chef
Cooking? Jérôme fell into it at an early age in Marseille. Hard to do otherwise when your grandparents and father were restaurateurs! Even as a child, he would hang around their restaurant, watching the culinary ballet with fascination.
From the age of 10, he was immersed in the world of Armenian flavors, guided by his grandmother Marie-Jeanne and his aunts Rose and Isabelle.
That smell of freshly baked lahmajoun… it instantly takes me back to my childhood!
At the age of 16, his career took on a professional dimension. He took a CAP (vocational training certificate) at the Bonneveine hotel school in Marseille to acquire the essential basics, then went on to take a Bac Pro (vocational training certificate), alternating between Marseille and Carpentras.
Jérôme has developed his own unique culinary signature through his experiences in gastronomic establishments and bistronomic addresses. His philosophy can be summed up in three fundamental principles: season, taste, sharing.
